The first computer version of the game dates back to 1978 when it was created for the PLATO system. Subsequently, a Microsoft developer discovered this version and developed a version for Windows, initially included with Win32s as an application for testing the 32-bit thunking layer. FreeCell gained popularity after its release as part of Windows 95.

Since then, the game has been adapted for various platforms. Our version aims to provide a complete gaming experience in a compact download size. Features such as power moves, hints, and undo (located in the top right corner of the title bar) have been meticulously incorporated. Additionally, minor adjustments have been made to enhance gameplay on smaller mobile devices - for instance, no need to individually select cards; drag and drop entire columns, with only valid card movements allowed.

In this rendition, cards are automatically placed onto the foundation when possible, and scoring has been refined to focus solely on the number of moves taken – aiming for a lower score for a better performance.

Gameplay involves only the top (exposed) card of each tableau pile being accessible. These cards can be moved to foundation piles, free cells, or other tableau piles following the standard rules of building down by sequence and alternating color. Should you encounter a stalemate, utilize hints or undo functions (located in the top right corner) or access the menu to start anew.
